Good stuff! Do they actually provide Qlders with an LID? I've heard some people say they weren't told theirs, but they have a general idea. Weird.

Anyway, good to hear you know it arrived safely in China.

Pardon my ignorance but what's an LID?

LID is log in date. It means the date that your file was punched into the computers in China. It's the date that the wait in China offically starts. Everything then revolves around that LID. The last families who were allocated have a LID of 15 December 2005. (Which would lead you to think that we could be allocated in 2 years, but currently only two weeks are being allocated every month. So unless it speeds up, we are in for a minimum 4 year wait.

Emma, I don't know if the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) do give LIDs or not. But the department still tries to find out what it is and they said they will let us know.

Hi Sandie,
congratulations on finally getting your file off to China. Ours took Five weeks to Log in so I know how that wait can feel like forever.
With regard to the LID yes the dept will contact China to get your LID our Batch the original Batch 9 was the first Batch to fight for this and it did take a bit of convincing but we managed to get ours so if the they try to fob you off be persistent it is so important so you can keep track of your position in the queue as it moves particularly in these times of only a few days being processed each month.
All the best ,
Sarah
